Google has redesigned the Gmail and has even added some new and useful features which has set the game up for Google from any other inbox or email services respectively.
Here's a 101 guide on how to get the new Gmail look on your personal account.
Step 1: Turning it ON
First of all, you have to open your Gmail account as you usually do and then head over to the Settings cog and click on the "Try the new Gmail" option as mentioned in the picture.
After enabling it, you'll be redirected to the newer or revamped version of Gmail.

After the new loading screen, you'll find Gmail welcoming you to Gmail's new and a fresh look.
Step 2: Choose a view
You'll get a prompt of "Choose a view" which will have three views in total namely Default, Comfortable and Compact.
You have to choose a view from the three as per your preference.

How can I rollback to the classic/older Gmail?
If you don't like the new layout or you're just tired of any changes to the Gmail then there's an option for the users like you. You can always rollback to the classic Gmail theme by heading over to the Settings cog and clicking on the "Go back to classic Gmail" option as mentioned in the picture.
New Features:
Google has added many new features to the new redesigned Gmail. It has now abiltity to add the "add-ons" from the Gsuite Marketplace. It has the integrity of the Google Calendar, Google Keep and the new launched Google Tasks. New security features like Confidential mode which sets the mail expiration date or time, in other words, it can be called self-destructing emails and also you can opt for emails having passcodes for more secure transfer of information or data via Gmail.
