Yes, you read it right. Apple Inc. got fined to pay 25000 USD per day for failing to provide Qualcomm Federal Trade Comission antitrust case.
The U.S. Magistrate Judge, Nathanael Cousins fined Apple because Apple breached the court-imposed deadline (which was on 18th Oct.) during which Apple was supposed to produce 1.3 million documents as part of the evidence in the Qualcomm FTC case.
The fine period is from 19th Dec. - 29th Dec. but according to Apple spokesman Josh Rosenstock:
“Apple has already produced millions of documents for this case and are working hard to deliver the millions more which have been requested in an unprecedented time-frame."
